Massive day for Fraser Coast league

LEAGUE: A new chapter in Maryborough's storied rugby league history will be written when the Heritage City hosts its first Intrust Super Cup game today.

Burleigh Bears will take on CQ Capras as part of Country Week, the Queensland Rugby League initiative that takes a full round of games to rural and regional areas.

The Bears are among the best in the Intrust Super Cup. The side has slipped out of the top two in recent weeks and is determined to find form in the lead-up to the finals.

It is a must-win game for the Capras. They still have a chance to make the top eight, but must start a winning run this weekend.

Today's Eskdale Park clash is the first of two Intrust Super Cup games to be held on the Fraser Coast in two weeks, as Hervey Bay hosts the clash between Sunshine Coast Falcons and Northern Pride next Saturday.

The Intrust Super Cup kicks off at 3pm.
