HERVEY Bay Humpbacks staged a successful Masters Swimming meet on Saturday.
It was a combination of an open water swim and traditional events at Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre.
About 140 swimmers flocked from across the state to cool off at the Fraser Coast event.
"The weather wasn't as bad as we thought it would be," Hervey Bay Hump- backs' Bridgit Jones said.
"It was very hot out there but everyone handled it really well."
The open water swim had a combination of masters swimmers, triathletes and other locals take part of the race, which was held near the sailing club at Torquay.
We had a great mixture of people," Jones said.
