Man unhappy with council's actions

A MARYBOROUGH man who refused to pay a parking fine because he believed the Fraser Coast Regional Council had a “corrupt” history on his property has fronted court.

John Raymond Wall, the self-proclaimed mayor of Granville, was issued with the fine earlier this year but refused to pay up.

He was summoned to the Maryborough Magistrates Court but when he did not appear, the magistrate dealt with the matter ex-parte, or in his absence.

Wall contested this action and finally fronted court last month where he made an application to re-open the case.

He did a back flip and conceded he would pay the fine, however, after he was able to have his say in open court about the council’s alleged corruption on his property.
