Mayor welcomes ABC's QandA on the Fraser Coast

AUSTRALIAN television panel discussion program Q&A visited Toowoomba last month with the Mayor featuring as a panelist.

Fraser Coast Regional Council Mayor Gerard O'Connell said a visit from Q&A would give the Fraser Coast a national prominence.

"It would give locals the opportunity to ask questions and highlight our strengths and the issues we're dealing with on the Fraser Coast," Cr O'Connell said.

Toowoomba residents had the opportunity to put forward questions to the panel.

Toowoomba Mayor Paul Antonio was available to talk about local government and University of Southern vice chancellor Jan Thomas will likely speak on education issues.

Cr O'Connell said he would love the opportunity to be on the panel.

He said community investments and initiatives would be good topics of discussion.

"It would give us that great lounge room opportunity and national prominence, it would be phenomenal," Cr O'Connell said.
