M'boro's Michael Tudman stands for Clive Palmer in Wide Bay

MARYBOROUGH businessman Michael Tudman will contest the seat of Wide Bay for Clive Palmer's Palmer United Party at the September 14 federal election.

Mr Palmer said he was pleased to endorse such an outstanding candidate with extensive business experience and community involvement to stand as the Palmer United Party candidate.

A party spokesman said Mr Tudman was in Africa on business at the moment and he was not sure when he would be back in Queensland.

"The Palmer United Party wants to make a difference for central Queensland, which has been forgotten by the major parties," Mr Palmer said.

The Palmer United Party federal election campaign has already recruited rugby league great Glenn Lazarus to head the Queensland senate team.

"We have also endorsed outstanding candidates on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts as well as in Brisbane and North Queensland, while former frontbencher Rob Messenger will stand for the Palmer United Party in Hinkler," Mr Palmer said.

"The Palmer United Party is building a strong team of candidates and will have more announcements in Queensland this week and all around Australia in the weeks ahead."

He plans to field Palmer United Party candidates in all House of Representative seats and a senate team in each state and territory.
