Mega footy star takes Mackay fan to get signature inked
BEAU Ryan has done a lot of crazy things on The NRL Footy Show but nothing as crazy as what happened to him at the Maroons Fan Day in Mackay. Kaya Del Simone, 18, has watched The Footy Show for years, mainly because of host Beau Ryan.
"The stupid things he does, that's the one thing I really watch for to see what he does that week," she said.
This week, the show was filmed in Mackay, and Ms Del Simone managed to get herself on it.
Whilst Ryan was mingling with the crowd during the street parade, Ms Del Simone couldn't contain her excitement and blurted out that she would get his autograph tattooed.
He signed her arm and went on his way.
"He is pretty much what you see on the TV, he's the exact same in real life, just over the top," she said.
But it didn't end there. Ms Del Simone ran into him at the juniors clinic and told him the tattoo was booked in.
By that afternoon Ms Del Simone was sitting in the Mad Monk Tattoo studio, holding Ryan's hand in front of a camera crew.
"He asked if I was sure and said I was the craziest person he had ever met, he couldn't believe I was doing it," she said.
"Every time I think about it I just start laughing and wonder what are my kids going to say.
"I think it will be a good story when I'm older."
It is Ms Del Simone's first tattoo.
"It was just a spontaneous thing, it all happened so quickly," she said.
"I have always loved Beau, I'm still on such a high."
The next day Ms Del Simone said she had people messaging her asking if she was 'that girl from the footy show'.
"A lot of people said I just did it to be famous for a little bit," she said.
"I didn't really care, it was just exciting."
Ryan gave her some free tickets to The Footy Show and caught up with him again that night.
"He said he still can't believe I did it," she said.
"Out of everything he has done in his career on the Footy Show, he said this is the most craziest thing.
"I had topped everything he had ever done."
