Midgets set to race

THEY are officially called midgets.

However, these little vehicles are not short of one thing – plenty of speed.

More than 30 of them will prove that at Tinana’s Maryborough Speedway during the opening round of National Speedcar Super Series tomorrow night.

The biggest field of midgets seen in the city for more than 20 years will get the green light to entertain in the first of the five-round series.

Among the drivers out to impress will be Sydney’s Mark Brown, someone trying to win the series for an incredible fifth consecutive time.

But it won’t only be the midgets on the menu for fans with a need for speed fix.

Four Cylinder Sedans, Super Street Sedans and Street Sedans will also be in action.

Gates open at 2pm with the racing scheduled to start at 4pm.
