HUNTERS have killed a 100-year-old alligator in Okeechobee, Florida.

The 15ft, 363kg monster was fatally shot after terrorising livestock on a farm.

The Daily Mail reports Outwest Farms owner, Lee Lightsey and hunting guide, Blake Godwin, discovered the alligator in their cattle ponds last week.

They believed it was eating the farm's cows.

Godwin told Fox 13 they discovered the remains of cattle in the water.

"We determined that he was in fact attacking our livestock as they came to drink."

So when the animal surfaced 20ft from them on Saturday, they shot it.

The gator was so large they had to use a tractor to drag it out of the pond.

They plan on donating the enormous creature's meat to charity and having the alligator taxidermied so they can display it at their hunting shows and expos.
