THE monster trucks have visited children at Maryborough's St Mary's Primary School ahead of the upcoming appearance at the speedway.

Dozens of children enjoyed the spectacle as it was announced that the monster trucks would be squashing 12 cars at the Maryborough Speedway on the weekend, with chants of "crush it, crush it, crush it" from the excited kids.

Billed as Total Destruction, the event will be held on September 3 and it will include the monster trucks display, freestyle motocross, car stunts, fireworks and much more.

Rides in the monster trucks will also be available on the night.

Tickets will cost $40 for adults and $30 for children aged between 3 and 11.

Gates will open at 1pm with the event to start at 4pm.
