This month’s cemetery tour is about deaths and murders

MARYBOROUGH'S history will come to life when the Maryborough District Family History Society hosts the October cemetery tour.

"This month's tour will be about deaths and murders, and should go down really well with the moon coming into full," society secretary Margaret Wroe said.

The walk will be held on October 18 and meet at the Walker St Cemetery gate at 6.15pm.

Mrs Wroe said the society would host two more cemetery tours during October.

"We will be running two tours to coincide with the open house celebrations and entry will be a gold coin," she said.

"These tours will include our early settlers - people who were here prior to 1861, when we were declared a town.

"It has been amazing, the number of people we could talk on during this period."
