POLICE are warning motorists not to drive through floodwaters with at least two vehicles getting stuck on the Fraser Coast on Sunday morning.
Many motorists and residents have been stranded as heavy rain turned streets into rivers on the Fraser Coast .
Police said access to Maryborough from Hervey Bay had been cut off at Susan River and Maryborough was also isolated, with sections of the Bruce Hwy cut at Saltwater Creek in Aldershot and at Chinaman Creek in Tiaro.
The Granville bridge was also underwater, leaving the township isolated.
Some cars had tried to cross the bridge but had quickly turned back as floodwater rose, police said.
The Maryborough-Biggenden Rd at Aramara and Mungar Rd at Tiaro had been cut by the rising Mary River.
The Torbanlea-Pialba Rd at Torbanlea near the school had also been cut.
Police said several motorists were stuck at the Walker St Matilda service station after being caught out by the rapidly rising water.
