Motorists cut the cost and fuel up outside Hervey Bay

AS the RACQ urges motorists to boycott expensive Hervey Bay petrol stations and fill up in Maryborough we asked our Facebook community where they get their fuel.

While most wouldn't make the trip to Maryborough to fill up, others take the opportunity to fill up while on the road opting for cheaper fuel stations like Gympie.

Debra Harding Jones Mundy said if she's going out of town she'll fill up in Maryborough or Tiaro.

"I don't drive all the way there and back just for fuel, that would be daft," she said.

Cassie Puller travels to Maryborough once a week and out to Tiaro occasionally.

"I fill up at either place, they're much cheaper than Hervey Bay, why pay those higher prices if I can help it?."

She suggested Walker Street puma, Woollies Caltex or Tiaro United.

Skyanne Miller questioned the trip to Maryborough just to buy petrol.

"You have to drive back that doesn't make sense ? Waste your petrol and money, I don't think so."

Samantha Miller gets her fuel at the Boat Club.

"It's one of the cheaper in town and it lasts longer. I drive a V8 Land Cruiser and get three weeks out of my tank," she said.

Kathy Butler said she got fuel for $1.12 on the Sunny Coast after the weekend.

"It's disgusting the price we are paying here," she said.

Sabrina Rule fills up at Torbanlea servo near where she lives, while Ray Cooper stops in at Gympie while away every few weeks.
