Movie review: Madagascar 3

WITH a bright and psychedelic colour pallet, dazzlingly feast of fun and celebration of cheeky humour, Madagascar is a pure animated joy.

A manic, magical masterpiece.

Still trying to find their way to home to their NYC zoo, the loveable troupe of wacky animals join a travelling circus.

But first they must overcome thousands of kilometres, a psychotic French policewoman and penguins with a penchant for troublesome gambling.

Along for ride are a train-load of fun new characters, there's romance kindled, lessons leanrt and confidence restored.

It's not perfect, especially Chantel the French villain who is as shallow as Sonya the bear's water bowl but she does move the plot along although with multiple inconsistencies.

But it's intricate plot are not what Madagascar 3 is about.

It's bright and breezy, fast and fun presented in a bright neon package.

The Madagascar series has until now been a little ho-hum, fun but not memorable.

But Madagascar 3 is packed full of laughs coated in cuteness and this threequel breaks the curse and comes out on top with a perfect landing.
