Mum was about to inject morphine

A 35-YEAR-OLD mother who was found with morphine and a used syringe in her Granville home was fined $1300 when she appeared in court on three drug charges.

Cheryl Valma Smith’s home was searched by police on October 30.

Smith admitted she had been preparing a morphine tablet for injection as police arrived.

The officers found the tablet on a spoon, as well as other used spoons, alcohol swabs and a capped needle.

Smith shared the home with her 13-year-old daughter.

“I personally am disgusted you have this type of rubbish in your house when you have a 13-year-old girl,” Magistrate John Smith said.
