Neville's intentions unclear

THE political future of Member for Hinkler Paul Neville remains unclear.

Mr Neville was due to attend meetings in Brisbane with party officials yesterday to discuss his nomination for the Federal seat.

Mr Neville did not return the Chronicle's calls.

He is due to be in Canberra today as Parliament begins its next session.

Earlier in the week, political sources indicated Mr Neville had been approached by party organisers about his candidacy in Hinkler.

With nominations due to be called for pre-selection this week, interest among the party faithful and the broader electorate as to Mr Neville's intentions is running high.

Mr Neville told the Chronicle that he was aware that two potential candidates in Hervey Bay were actively canvassing opinion as to whether they should stand for pre- selection against him.
