New 529-lot Eli Waters residential development approved

A NEW 529-lot Eli Waters project has been granted a development permit in the council chambers on Wednesday morning.

The development is an extension of the Mariners Cove estate in the area of Grinsteads Rd and Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd.

As part of the development, three sites totalling 161.11 hectares will be subdivided.

The project involves 119 hectares of land being used for environmental purposes.

Council documents show the project will be built as three precincts with lot sizes ranging in areas from 450sq m to 1290sq m, including 249 small lots of less than 600 sq m.

Infrastructure and planning portfolio councillor Trevor McDonald said he hoped new infrastructure works to be constructed as part of the development would improve traffic flow in Eli Waters.

Specifically an additional connection road from Rosentreter Lane to a new intersection on Pialba-Burrum Heads Rd will be constructed.
