New age techniques used for sexual assault by healer

A "SPIRITUAL healer" who allegedly used poorly disguised new age techniques to sexually assault a client at his western Sydney property, was expected to be refused bail on Monday.

Police will allege that in August, 2002, the man was contacted by a 27-year-old woman who had seen his advertisement for spiritual consultation services in the local paper.

The man allegedly claimed to have expertise in astrology, numerology, meditation and black magic.

On her first visit to the Wentworthville property, the woman was allegedly sexually and indecent assaulted by the man and told the "healing technique" was a secret, not to be spoken about with anyone else.

The man allegedly repeated the behaviour during the woman's second visit.

An investigation by the Sex Crimes Squad led detectives to a property at Bexley North on Monday morning.

A 49-year-old was arrested and taken to the Kogarah Police Station where he was expected to be charged.
