New Scarness lights on hold following storm

WORK has begun to replace 26 lights damaged in January's major storm in Scarness.

Fraser Coast Regional Council has ordered replacement LED lights for the globes, which were installed just three months before the storm.

Division Nine Councillor Stuart Taylor said it is expected the lights could take another eight weeks to arrive.

"We hope that spare parts can eventually be sourced so the lights can be repaired and used in other projects." The CCTV system damaged in the storm has been repaired.
