Izaiah gets new tackle bag

IZAIAH Schwerin has returned to the Sunshine Coast a happy lad, thanks to the generosity of some Hervey Bay locals.

Following the callous theft of the 14-year-old’s prized tackle bag at Burrum Heads, local couple Colleen and Michael Fox organised a replacement for the keen fisherman.

The pair rallied the help of Tackle World Hervey Bay, who kindly donated a new tackle box, which the Foxes then filled with lures and cash for more equipment.

Mrs Fox said she was moved when she read that Izaiah and his grandfather had spent hours together crafting their own hand-made lures, which had been stolen with the bag.

So she threw in a couple of hand-made lures she bought in the Northern Territory, which she hoped would bring the teen luck.

“I just thought it was a really sad story,” Mrs Fox said.

“We wanted them to know there are people in the community who are willing to help.”

Izaiah and his mum Tracey said they were touched by the generosity.
