Off target but Lucy's aim not affected in the field

LUCY Berwick's love of archery knows no bounds.

"If you want to know anything about archery just ask," she said enthusiastically.

Berwick fired her first arrow a little more than two years ago when she encouraged her daughter to give the sport a go.

"She lasted six months and I'm still here," she said. "I love it. I'm obsessed."

Berwick won the women's unlimited compound B-grade shoot in what she said was her first field competition.

"I usually shoot target but this was my first time in field," she said.

"It's very different, but you have to be more careful about your settings."

Berwick said archery was a sport "that isn't just for young people", adding the state IFAA titles at Susan River was a great experience.

"We got to meet people from all around the state."
