Newman’s victimising Bay whale operators: Shadow Minister
HERVEY Bay's whale watching operators are being "victimised" by the Newman government, according to the Shadow Minister for Small Business.
Jackie Trad said it was wrong that Hervey Bay's operators would have to pay for permits that were not required elsewhere.
"Companies which have worked hard to bring valuable tourist dollars to Queensland over the years ... are now commercially disadvantaged by changes introduced by a bungling administration," she said.
"The Premier seems not to understand that whale watching is crucial to Hervey Bay and the tourism industry ... around the activity."
