'Nice to be home': Look who's back carving it up on the Coast

FRESH out of the surf at Fiji and Julian Wilson has been catching incredible waves again, except these were in his own backyard.

The pro-surfer was spotted carving up the waves at Coolum Beach this morning, June 21.

Photographer, Jack Dekort was there to take the photos.

Dekort said the surf was "pretty damn good" off Coolum.

"They were huge today, I expect they will drop off pretty quickly," he said.

Julian's brother, Seb had contacted Jack to let him know the surfers would be down in the water in the morning.

But they weren't alone,

Dekort said it was "pretty bus for mid-week" when they were done there.

His photos show Wilson catching a clear blue barrel and making it look so easy.

Wilson's mum, Nola, said her famous son had been "surfing today and yesterday".

Wilson was eliminated in the quarter final Julian Wilson was eliminated in the quarter final of the World Surf League event in Fiji on June 15.

His Facebook page shared photos of the incredible surf off the South Pacific Island.

Mrs Wilson said it was "nice to be home".

She was leaving with him to go to Jeffreys Bay on July 7 for another World Surf League event.

This is the same event where Wilson famously paddled out to help his mate, Mick Fanning, who was attacked by a Great White in 2015.

Premier Annastasia Palaszczuk nominated Wilson for a bravery award for his brave actions.

Mrs Wilson said she was planning to be "shark spotter" on this trip.
