Lucky escape after Nikenbah crash

THERE are some people in Hervey Bay “extremely lucky” to be alive after a three vehicle traffic accident this morning.

The crash occurred in Nikenbah just after 8.30am and involved five people in the cars.

Station Officer Neil Lesmond of the Queensland Fire and Rescue said the people were lucky to escape serious injury or death considering the amount of damage the vehicles sustained.

All five people were taken to Hervey Bay Hospital but Mr Lesmond said none of the injuries were believed to be serious.

The vehicles involved were a white commercial van, a silver Mercedes and a white sedan.
