No stopping for keen show-goers after more than 30 years

GYNETTE and Tom Macnamara say they have visited the Fraser Coast Show every year for more than 30 years.

"We've been going to the show every year since I think about 1982," Gynette said.

"The first year we tried to go to the show, the whole thing blew up.

"There was a problem with the electricity or something and the lights weren't able to work."

The next time they tried to attend, Tom said there was an issue with flooding.

"I'm pretty sure the next time we tried to go the whole thing was washed out.

"I do remember we had to walk all around in the mud."

Despite the setbacks, the couple has spent years volunteering at the event.

This year Gynette is performing bobbin lace demonstrations alongside the Fraser Coast Lace Makers.
