Nursery owner with 35 years experience to talk about orchids

A NURSERY owner with 35 years of horticultural experience will host an information session at the Hervey Bay Orchid House on Thursday, August 8, from 10-11.30am.

Sam Cowie, the owner of Leaf and Limb Nursery in Kin Kin, specialises in oncidiums.

"I grew up in my parent's nursery and have been involved in the industry since 1978," he said.

"We specialise in oncidium intergenerics at our nursery but I have worked in several fields and basically done everything from weeding plants to expert witness work in court cases."

Guests will to able to participate in a question and answer session at the Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens and Sam will also present a slide slow on the day detailing some his work.

A variety of orchids will also be available to purchase on the day.

Entry is a gold coin donation and includes a cup of tea or coffee.
