Officer accused of cop-shop sex with prostitute trial set
A TRIAL against a senior NSW police officer accused of having sex with a prostitute in a northern NSW watchhouse is expected to take up to 10 days, a Sydney court has heard.
Former Tweed/Byron Senior Sergeant Mark Anthony Garner was sidelined in November 2011.
He is accused of having sex, while on duty, in the Kingscliff watchhouse and allegedly allowing the woman to play with his police-issued Glock pistol.
Garner, 49, is charged with two counts of misconduct in a public office, possess unauthorised pistol and allow unauthorised person to possess firearm/pistol.
He did not appear in the Sydney District Court on Friday but the charges were listed for trial on his behalf.
A courtroom at the Downing Centre has been booked for 10 days from October 20.
