Oh brother, girls are over the moon

HERVEY Bay's Aimee and Bradley Pickering had a few different names picked out for a little boy.

But when they saw their new son for the first time, they knew none of them would do.

“They were all too serious,” Aimee said.

Aimee thought her son, born on October 7 with a little dimple in his cheek, needed a name that would suit his laidback nature - so the couple decided on Owen Patrick.

Their two daughters, Annabelle, 6, and Selene, 2, love their new brother.

“They were both so excited,” Aimee said.

Annabelle shared a special moment with her little brother - he opened his eyes for the first time when it was her turn to have a cuddle.

Aimee enjoyed a very straightforward labour but one aspect was a little quirky .

She found she had to keep walking around because her labour stopped whenever she sat down.

Having a boy was a bit different to having girls, Aimee said: “He is so much bigger and a lot more settled than the girls.”
