One dead, two rescued after being washed off rocks

ONE person has died and two have been rescued and taken to hospital after they were washed off the rocks at a popular rock fishing spot near Manly in Sydney.

A spokeswoman for NSW Police said emergency services were called about 6.30am to Blue Fish Point.

The group were pulled from the water and taken in a police launch to Watson Bay where they were met by paramedics.

One of the group, however, died upon arrival. The other two were taken to St Vincents Hospital in a stable condition.

Blue Fish Point, off North Head, is a popular rock fishing spot but one that has seen many people lose their lives.
