One Nation leader Steve Dickson facing defeat in Buderim

ONE Nation appears certain to be leaderless after the next state election, with Steve Dickson facing defeat in his Sunshine Coast seat.

LNP polling obtained by The Courier-Mail shows the rise of One Nation and Mr Dickson's defection from the LNP have only served to cement the Opposition's hold on the electorate of Buderim.

The poll, conducted in May when support for One Nation hit record highs, indicates the Palaszczuk Government's rushed introduction of compulsory preferential voting is poised to backfire badly on Labor.

It shows the LNP's primary vote had barely changed in Buderim, slipping from 53 per cent at the 2015 election to 51 per cent.
