Holt wants apology from "devil" Abbott for racism remark

ONE Nation candidate Mike Holt says his party is considering suing the man he describes as "a devil", Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, for comments he made on national radio.

In an interview, Mr Abbott said he would give his preferences to minor parties last as they were "frankly racist".

Mr Holt said this was a direct slur on the One Nation Party, which had written to Mr Abbott on his Facebook page seeking an apology.

The party had also "consulted a lawyer".

"We asked Tony Abbott (for an apology) but he hasn't even deigned to answer us at this stage," he said.

"If he doesn't we will take legal action."

When questioned, Mr Holt revealed he had asked Mr Abbott for an apology on his Facebook page "27 minutes ago".

He said the Queensland One Nation president Jim Savage heard Mr Abbott's comments and they both took offence as "I'm married to a Thai, he's married to a Filipino".

"He is also the man who was behind the whole fiasco putting Pauline (Hanson) in jail. This man is a devil," he said.
