Onslaught of texts in 25 minute period leads to sentence

A WOMAN, who sent another person 136 blank text messages in a 25 minute period, was sentenced to prison in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

Andrea Fay Coughlin, 38, pleaded guilty to using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend after she texted the victim 250 times between September and February.

Coughlin, who pleaded guilty to the same offence in 2014, was sentenced to six months imprisonment, released on $2000 recognisance and a three year good behaviour period.
