OP shop glam won't cost much

YOU NEVER know what you might find at an op-shop – and Hervey Bay's Darren Everard is hoping people really use their imaginations when the Op Shop Charity Ball is held at the Pier Restaurant on October 30.

Mr Everard, who is helping to organise the event, has already been shopping for his outfit and he reckons it's quite quirky.

He is encouraging others to throw caution to the wind and enjoy themselves when putting together their op-shop chic outfits.

“It's all about having a bit of fun,” he said.

Mr Everard said the ball was being held to make up for the disappointment of missing out on the much-anticipated Mayoral Ball, which didn't happen this year because of a lack of sponsors.

It will also raise funds for Hervey Bay Hospital.

Tickets costs $60 and op-shop receipts will be needed to gain entry.

Entertainment will be provided by Dale the Singing Butcher and there will be a lucky door prize. Those attending will also have the chance to buy tickets to go in the running for a Fraser Island getaway.

Tickets must be bought before the event.

They can be purchased by emailing Mr Everard at darren@ignitum.com.au or by phoning 0419 021 923.
