Outdoor dining on Fraser Coast Regional Council's menu

MORE options for alfresco dining across the region are being investigated to help boost the ambiance for residents and visitors looking to eat out.

"Alfresco dining helps create a vibrant cafe and dining culture," Fraser Coast Regional Council city and town centre development portfolio councillor Daniel Sanderson said.

He said fees and charges for restaurants could come under the council's microscope.

"The council should be encouraging restaurants, cafes, and eateries outside to help create an atmosphere that attracts more patrons to an area," Cr Sanderson said.

"We've already stated with the parklet trial, which from early feedback, has been very successful.

"Now we need to look at our policies, especially our fees and charges, to see if they can be more flexible to encourage businesses to join us."
