Driver in her 80s fails to give way causing crash: police

UPDATE: A work ute spun around 180 degrees in a crash that happened after woman aged in her 80s failed to give way in Torquay, police say.

A police spokesman at the scene said the elderly couple in the sedan were not seriously injured but were taken to hospital for observation.

EARLIER: Paint spilled onto the road in a two-vehicle crash at the corner of Tavistock and Freshwater Sts in Torquay on Wednesday morning.

Police, fire and ambulance officers are at the scene of the crash, involving a tradesman's ute and a couple in a sedan, which happened about 10.10am.

Queensland Fire and Rescue Service officers are hosing the paint off the road.
