UPDATE: 99yo taken to hospital after mobility scooter fall

UPDATE 2.45PM:

The 99-year-old man involved in a mobility scooter accident in Maryborough earlier this afternoon has been taken  into Hervey Bay Hospital in a serious condition.

Queensland Ambulance Service acting officer in charge Jeremy Woods said the elderly man had been transported to the hospital after the incident on corner of Walker and John Sts.

Initial reports revealed the man had been knocked unconcious.

 

EARLIER:

CRITICAL care paramedics are treating a 99-year-old man for head injuries after he fell from a mobility scooter on the corner of Walker and John streets.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in Maryborough about 1.30pm on Wednesday.

It is understood the man is unconscious and will be taken to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment. 

Paramedics and police are still on the scene.
