Pensioner loses cards to thief
MARGARET Vickers of Eli Waters lost more than the $5 that was in her purse the other day when she left it behind at the Pialba Post Office.
The vision impaired pensioner also lost all her valuable concession cards and now will have to wait weeks and possibly months to get them back.
“I would have thought when someone opened up the purse and saw that it was owned by a blind person that they would have had the decency to have at least left it where it could be found again,” Ms Vickers said.
“Instead they caused me a great deal of pain and angst for just $5.”
Ms Vickers is hopeful whoever stole the purse may have the decency to at least telephone the Chronicle and tell us where it may be found.
“It will save me so much trouble if I could get it back with my concession cards,” she said.
The person who took the purse may be soon getting a visit from the police as they have now been supplied with video surveillance footage from the post office.
