OPINION: Peppa the pooch true hero in so many ways
I THINK just about everyone will relate to Wednesday's front page story.
Even if your pet hasn't literally saved your life, I would bet it has made your life better in a whole range of ways.
It's wonderful to be able to run a heart-warming story on the front page and celebrate the special connection between a little girl and her pet.
Peppa the fox terrier may well have saved 10-year-old Alexandra's life when he alerted her mother Peta Hanney to the sound of an alarm coming from an oxygen concentrator in the little girl's room.
Suffering from central sleep apnoea, it is dangerous for Alexandra to be without oxygen during the night, with mum Peta saying in the worst case scenario, she could die.
Peppa is a hero and her family is eternally grateful for what she did.
It's amazing the difference a pet can make in our lives.
Alexandra has autism and she shares a unique bond with Peppa.
Peta said Peppa was incredibly protective towards her daughter, as well as patient and tolerant.
I have no doubt Peppa was making a positive difference in Alexandra's life long before she came to the rescue on Sunday night.
I know I will be going home to give my dogs an extra hug tonight.
They truly are man's best friend.
