Seniors/disability cardholders can claim $25 pet discount

IF YOU are on an aged pension, disability pension or eligible for a Queensland Seniors card, you can claim pet registration concessions.

Fraser Coast councillor Robert Garland said all pet owners received a $20 discount if they paid by the end of August.

He said seniors/disability cardholders could claim an extra $5, in recognition of the importance of cats and dogs as companion animals, which made the renewal fee $24 for a desexed cat and $29 for a desexed dog.

Cr Garland said as an added incentive to pay on time, the council would donate 25 cents from every pet registration renewal paid before August 31 to the AGL Rescue Helicopter.
