Peter Beattie spotted house hunting

JUST weeks after the sale of their Brisbane home went unconditional, former Queensland premier Peter Beattie and his wife, Heather, were spotted inspecting a Redfern property.

But it's more likely they were window-shopping for an upgrade for their son, Denis, a lawyer at the Australian Taxation Office, than for themselves.

Peter Beattie’s home at 49 Dalrymple St, Wilston, sold for $2.19 million.

The Beatties were seen walking out the front gate, and observing the rear-lane garage access, of a weatherboard cottage priced just under $3 million.

It's now sold and the Beatties weren't the purchasers.

Mr Beattie’s son, Denis, is believed to live in the apartment in Victoria Park Parade, Zetland, purchased for $975,000 last May.

It's understood Denis Beattie lives in the two-bedroom Zetland apartment bought for $975,000 last May.

The couple - whose five-bedroom Queenslander in the suburb of Wilston sold for $2.19 million -- are happily ensconced in their $1.46 million unit in the exclusive riverfront Mariners Reach complex in Newstead.
