PHOTOS: Swans set standard in huge trial win at Bay

HERVEY Bay Bombers coach Darren Hunter can take plenty away from his team's trial match despite being on the wrong end of a 94-point margin.

The Bombers were thrashed 17.18-120 - 4.2-26 at Norm McLean Oval by the Yeppoon Swans, a side that has not lost in three years.

"They are a well-drilled unit,” Hunter said of the Swans. "I think the boys were cooked out there.”

The trial, which was Hervey Bay's first game since last year's QFA Wide Bay Sunshine Coast preliminary final, allowed Hunter his first look at the side in a game situation.

"We have to work on a few things. They'll work on fitness, but our zoning and midfield was pretty good,” Hunter said.
