Pick up a job at one-stop shop

MORE than 50 exhibitors with hundreds of jobs are expected to attract big crowds to the jobs supermarket at Wide Bay TAFE in Pialba this Friday.

Keep Australia Working Jobs and Skills Expo national manager Malcolm Mill said the event was a practical way of addressing unemployment and skills shortages on the Fraser Coast.

“The expos are a one-stop jobs supermarket, where job seekers and employers can engage in person and build relationships which lead to real jobs,” he said.

“These expos are not careers expos but jobs expos ... about real job opportunities right now on the day.

“They are a unique way of assisting people who are genuinely looking for work and businesses looking for staff.”

TV personality and expo ambassador Scott Hillier will be announcing and entertaining at the expo.

“The Fraser Coast expo promises to be very special and, being a local boy, I wanted to play an active role in the event,” he said.
