Pitt pledges cash for new surf life saving patrol tower

LNP candidate for Hinkler Keith Pitt has promised $100,000 towards a new patrol tower for the Hervey Bay Surf Life Saving Club if the Coalition wins power in Canberra.

"This is something the club and local community has needed for some time, and if elected, I'll work hard to make sure the project will be funded under an incoming Coalition government," Mr Pitt said.

Surf Life Saving Queensland regional operations manager Craig Holden said the tower would form the first stage of a planned expansion of life saving activities along the long Hervey Bay beaches.

"Life savers have to cover a lot of territory," he said.
