Police believe man involved in crime spree in the Bay

THE search is continuing for a man who has been on a two-week crime spree spanning as far as Brisbane, the Wide Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

Police believe the man could be in Hervey Bay after he was spotted in Torquay on Monday.

Hervey Bay police Sergeant Mick Polit said the man had a Celtic type tattoo on his left arm.

Sgt Polit said it was believed the man had been involved in a number of driving offences around the region on Sunday.

The man is about 180cm tall with a solid build, Caucasian in appearance and with short brown hair.

He is not believed to be violent.

Police have not released a photograph of the man.
