The Ipswich CIB is desperate to find two men responsible for a brazen robbery at the convenience store at Booval on Wednesday night.

Police said about 8pm two men entered the Brisbane Rd IGA store with one producing a hand gun and threatening the attendant.

During the violent hold-up, they forced the attendant to kneel behind the counter and one thief pointed a hand gun at the frightened man.

The other robber threatened the kneeling attendant across the counter.

The robbers, both wearing balaclavas to disguise their appearance, gained access to the cash register and left the store after taking cash.

Police said the attendant, a 29-year-old Toowong man, was not physically injured.

The first man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, 183cm tall and of solid build.

He was wearing a light green hooded jacket, black shorts, gloves and a balaclava.

The second man is also described as Pacific Islander in appearance, 183cm tall and of solid build. He was wearing a dark green hooded jacket, dark coloured track pants, gloves and a balaclava.
