Man hit in head with bat at Urangan on Monday, police told

THE police are investigating a bashing which occurred near Peppers Resort in Urangan on Monday.

A Hervey Bay police spokesman confirmed they received a report a man had been hit in the head with a bat about 3pm.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with head injuries.

The spokesman said police could not initially interview the man because of the injuries but later in the afternoon were able to speak with him.

The man indicated he wanted to make a complaint of assault and the Criminal Investigation Branch then took over the case, the spokesman said.
