UPDATE: Police have escorted  a man on a stretcher out of bushland off Booral Rd in Nikenbah about 12.45pm.

He was wheeled into a waiting ambulance by ambulance officers and another man was also loaded into an ambulance.

The incident is believed to be related to a police search that started on Wednesday morning.

EARLIER UPDATE: Hervey Bay police have downgraded the search for a man believed to be in bushland at Booral.

Units were patrolling the area near the Hervey Bay Airport but the search was called off after the dog squad did not locate the man.

EARLIER: The police dog squad and CIB detectives are among officers in at least 10 cars scouring the Booral area for a man believed to have committed break-ins overnight.

Police said the man, described as being short, in his early 20s and not wearing a shirt, crashed a car on Booral Rd.

A blue shirt, believed to belong to the suspect, was found by police on Bingham Rd at Booral.
