Police take man, 25, to hospital after 14-hour stand-off

A 25-YEAR-old man was taken to Maryborough Hospital on Saturday after a stand-off in Treasure St.

Relatives of the man called police fearing he was unwell about 9.30pm on Friday night.

When police arrived, the man, the only occupant of the house, refused to let them in.

Police remained at the residence for 14 hours negotiating with the man to surrender.

On Saturday morning, the man surrendered himself to police who then took him to hospital to be assessed.
