Police warn Bay residents to lock cars after thefts

POLICE are reminding Hervey Bay residents to lock their vehicles and place valuables out of sight after three cars were broken into in Hervey Bay in the past week.

Items were stolen from cars on Howard St, Urangan, Pennant Dr, Point Vernon and Poinciana Cres, Kawungan.

"Police are reminding owners of vehicles that thieves will target items such as laptops, mobile phones, cameras and wallets via unlocked doors and windows," a police spokeswoman said.

"Please remember to secure your vehicles to help reduce the opportunity for criminals to commit offences."
