Couple’s school pool dip ‘totally uncool’: Police

THE empty school grounds and play areas may be inviting for some but police are warning using school equipment without permission is a crime.

The warning comes after a couple decided the Hervey Bay High School pool was the perfect place to cool off in the early hours of March 13.

The 23-year-old woman and 22-year-old man were charged with trespassing and will appear in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court in early April.

It is an offence to enter school yards without permission and those caught will be charged with trespassing.

Police are urging people to keep an eye on schools during the Easter break to ensure no equipment is being damaged.

If you notice any suspicious behaviour call Police Link on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
