Fitting proposal for theatre lover
IT MAY go down in history as being one of the most unique marriage proposals of all time.
But Maryborough’s Ross Medew reckons his proposal was exactly in keeping with who he is.
The keen thespian, who has starred in plenty of plays at Hervey Bay’s Z-Pac Theatre over the years, had an idea a little more than a week ago.
He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Rebecca Ball, but had to come up with the perfect way to do it.
So he decided to write a skit and perform it at Z-Pac Theatre’s open day at the weekend.
With the help of a friend Ross wrote a skit that consisted of a conversation between two “bogan” blokes, complete with beards, long hair and grotty clothing.
One of the blokes has a missus who keeps dropping hints about wanting to get married.
In the skit the two friends discussed all the reasons for not getting married, such as having to shave and keep up other elements of personal hygiene.
Ross then announced that the second half of the skit would return shortly.
During the short break he shaved off his beard and put on a suit.
He then returned to the stage and popped the question to Rebecca, who was watching in the front row.
